Well, Monday night we got to the hospital. Captain Jack (4 yr old) got them in his hand. Basically Tootie got a hold of scissors and Cap'n Jack was trying to be a good big brother and take them away. Well, he grabbed the blades and Tootie closed the scissors on his hand. He screamed!!! I was checking my email at the time and so I got up to check on him. I saw all the blood and ran his hand under the water. That's when I saw the fat under his skin and knew he'd need stitches. So I wrapped his hand in some gauze and an ace bandage (that's all I had), and we headed to the Urgent Care Center. Well, it was 9:15 or so and night, (I don't have insurance right now which is why I chose Urg Care), and BOTH Urgent Cares by my house closed at 8pm. I was SOOOO mad!!!!!! I did NOT want to go sit in the hospital for hours on end; I had to work the next day. Plus, I was 99% sure he needed stitches, but was afraid to go there cuz it would be my luck that we stay for hours and hours and rack up a huge bill just to find out he doesn't need stitches. Well, we went to the hospital anyways, cuz I knew he'd need stitches. We waited for 3 hours before we got called back to a room. The doctor took one look and said he needed stitches. So they gave him a sedative to relax him and then went to stitch him up. Well, the lidocane wasn't working, so they had to give him more 2 more times. Finally it was numb enought to stitch. He got a whopping 3 stitches in the palm of his hand where the loose skin is by your thumb. So, next Monday, I'm going to see if he'll let me take them out. He cries and pulls away when I change the bandage, so I don't know if he'll let me or if I will have to take him in to my work and have someone else take them out.
So, I'm still recovering from getting home at 2am. I'm still exhausted, and I am going to bed now. So good nite all!!
